Cuttack: A CRPF jawan was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a house in Odisha’s Cuttack city.
The deceased has been identified as Havildar Diti Krishna Panda, who was posted in Jharkhand and had recently come home on leave.
Sources said the incident took place at a rented h
ouse located in Nayabazar area under the jurisdiction of CRRI police station. Panda was at home with his wife during the Holi festival on Wednesday while their two sons were away. It is suspected that a dispute broke out between the couple over some issue.
His body was reportedly found hanging inside the house in the afternoon. However, circumstances surrounding the death have raised several questions, particularly as his wife was present in the house at the time. He was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police have launched an investigation and are examining multiple aspects of the case. The body was sent for postmortem on Thursday.
