Bonai: The CRPF personnel on Saturday recovered a landmine from a forest under Bonai sub-division in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
According to sources, the personnel spotted a landmine planted under a tree while carrying out a combing operation inside Langalakanta forest, in view of the Martyrs’ Week being observed by the outlawed CPI (Maoist), this morning.
They immediately informed the bomb disposal squad, which rushed to the spot and recovered the landmine. Later, the squad diffused the 15-kg landmine, the sources added.
Following the incident, combining operation in this area has been intensified.
