Crude Bombs Hurled Over ‘Past Enmity’ At 2 Places In Odisha Capital

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital witnessed a series of crude bomb explosions at Bapuji Nagar’s Kedarpalli and Brahmapur Sahi areas under Capital police limits late on Wednesday.

According to sources, four miscreants, riding two motorcycles, stopped just a few yards away from the place where some local youths were hanging out near Lane-1 in Kedarpalli area and hurdled around four crude bombs. The bomb attacks, which were captured in a CCTV camera installed in the area, left a minor boy injured who had to be rushed to Capital Hospital.

The incident took place around 10.30-11 pm.

The youths reported the incident to police. Before police could arrive, another blast was heard, this time near Brahmapur Sahi.

Police have collected bomb fragments and are examining CCTV footage to identify the culprits.

The bombing is suspected to be the fallout of a clash between two groups pertaining to Ganesh Puja.
