Bhubaneswar: In view of increasing demand of the commuters, the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) has decided to include 10 more e-buses to its fleet in Odisha capital.
In a press release, the CRUT said it has started plying 15 e-buses in Bhubaneswar from Thursday for the convenience of the people coming to the city to watch FIH Odisha Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 at Kalinga Stadium. It would add 15 more e-buses to meet the increasing demand soon.
To encourage people to choose public transport over private vehicles and curb the traffic in the process, CRUT announced that people of Bhubaneswar with valid ticket/pass for the Hockey World Cup matches can commute in Mo Bus free of cost in its Special Shuttle Services on the date mentioned on the ticket/pass. The Hockey Special Shuttle Service will ply from January 13 to 29 in three different routes in Bhubaneswar covering the Kalinga Stadium as well as the city festival .Fest.
CRUT has launched another initiative called “Heritage on Mo E-Ride” exclusively for the citizens and tourists during the Hockey World Cup. Heritage on Mo E-Ride will be like a hop on hop off service plying in a circular loop covering the iconic places and heritage sites of the Ekamra Khestra (old town) in e-rickshaws.
In order to promote the local heritage and encourage tourists to experience the rich Odia culture, the service has been declared free of cost during the tournament and the timing would be from 7 am to 9 am and 3 pm to 5 pm.
