Kendrapara: The Kendrapara district administration on Thursday decided to lift the curfew in Kendrapara town on Friday morning after members of the two communities agreed to restore normalcy at a peace committee meeting in the evening.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, which was presided over by the Central Range IG, Soumendra Priyadarshi, Kendrapara SP, Niti Sekhar said the meeting was successful after members of the two warring committees unanimously agreed to restore normalcy in the town.
“Following the decision, the district administration has decided to lift the curfew in the town at 6 am on Friday. It has been decided that members of both the communities will take out a peace rally in the town Friday,” the SP added.
He also said that the district administration has said that it will have another round of meeting with the two communities on the original dispute over which tension had prevailed in the town on Wednesday.
