Curiosity Grows Over Elon Musk’s Partner Who Met Modi With Their Kids; Know Shivon Zilis’ Indian Connection

Washington: Social media is flooded with pictures and videos of Elon Musk walking to Blair House with his family to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

More than Musk, the spotlight was on his partner Shivon Zilis, and their three children.

PM Modi posted pictures of the meeting with Musk, and wrote, “It was also a delight to meet Mr @elonmusk ’s family and to talk about a wide range of subjects!”

It was the second high-profile public appearance of Zilis, having accompanied SpaceX and Tesla CEO Musk — who also heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the Donald Trump administration – to an official dinner a day before the President’s inauguration last month.

There is a lot of curiosity now about Zilis in India.

Zilis, now 39, has an Indian connection. She was born in Canada to an Indian mother, Sharda N, while his father is a Canadian named Richard Zilis.

Zilis is the Director of Operations and Special Projects of Neuralink, Musk’s artificial intelligence company.

Zilis, who joined Neuralink in May 2017, previously worked in his other companies, including OpenAI and Tesla.

According to her LinkedIn profile, Zilis did her Bachelor’s course in Arts, Economics and Philosophy from Yale University.

Her work at Bloomberg Beta earned Zilis a spot on Forbes’ list of 30 under-30 personalities in the venture-capital category in 2015.

She has also been placed in LinkedIn’s 35 under-35 list.

Zilis had twins – Strider and Azure – with Musk in 2021, but the news came to light in April 2022 only, after Musk and Zilis filed a petition to change the name of the twins with the aim of having “their father’s last name”, while the mother’s last name would be their middle name.

Musk and Zilis had a third child, in early 2024, whose name and gender have not been revealed yet.

Musk, who often speaks about the need for more children to help the “underpopulation crisis”, has fathered nine more children with other partners.

Zilis has not opened up about her relationship with Musk, but has often posted about him on X.
