“You are the writer, director, producer and editor of your own projects. You forged an idea, innovated and gave it a life form on the screen. You have not only introduced the world to your capabilities but have also shown them the world. You are the MVPs of the internet,” PM Modi said while acknowledging the impact of their content.

In December 2022, Kamiya Jani courted controversy following her video conversation with BJD leader V K Pandian on the transformational work around Jagannath Temple in Puri. While the BJP demanded her arrest under section 295 of the Indian Penal Code, accusing her of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus, she had then clarified that she is a ‘practising Hindu’ and does not consume or promote beef.

The National Creator Award saw a remarkable public participation. In the initial stage, over 150,000 nominations were received across 20 diverse categories. In the subsequent voting phase, approximately 1 million votes were cast for digital creators in various award categories. As a result, 23 winners, including three international creators, were selected, an official release said.
