Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning for 10 districts of Odisha, including Cuttack city, till 8.30 pm on Thursday.
Thunderstorm with lightning along with light to moderate rain is likely in some parts of Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Balasore and Bhadrak districts during next 3 hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places.
The weather agency has issued yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning for one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, and Bhadrak till 8.30 am on Friday. It has also forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowers at one or two places in coastal Odisha ,Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Rayagada, Koraput, and Nabarangpur during this period.
While the state is likely to experience rain during next 7 days, yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning have been issued for another 3 days. The day temperature across Odisha is also likely to fall by 2-3°C during the next 2-3 days, it said, adding that there will be no large change in the night temperature.
