Cuttack Conquest: India Whip Bangladesh To Top U-18 Asian Championship Qualifiers

Cuttack: India topped the FIBA U-18 Asian Championship SABA Qualifiers in style at the Jawaharlal Nehru indoor Stadium here on Saturday evening.

Having brushed aside the challenge of the Maldives by a huge margin of 154-32 on Friday, Team India proved to be too far superior for Bangladesh today.

Bangladesh did put up a better fight than the Maldives, but still lost 47-111. India led 58-21 at the halfway stage.

Kushal Singh top-scored with 20 points, while Lokendra Singh logged 16. Endadul Hoque Piash was Bangladesh’s best player with 17 points.

Bangladesh, by virtue of having got the better of the Maldives in the tournament opener, finished second in the Qualifiers.

India advanced to the FIBA Asia Cup, to be held in Tehran in August.
