Cuttack: Chelsi Behura from Cuttack district has been selected in top-15 contestants in the singing reality show Indian Idol-11.
The 14-year-old girl from Nadikula Sahi in Sikharpur received golden ticket and a mike to enter the top-15 category. Earlier, she had performed beautifully in the ‘theater round’ of the show. She was selected to the theater round from the audience round by singing ‘Main Pareshan’, which was much appreciated by the juries of the show, Anu Malik, Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani.
Chelsi, who lost her father at an early age, said, “My mother has been encouraging and supporting me to carry forward my interest in music. To fulfill my father’s dreams, I am giving more importance to singing.”
Chelsi has performed in other TV reality shows like Rising Star and Indian Idol Junior.
“I like the songs of Lata Manjeskar very much. Besides, I also listen to Sunidhi Chouhan and Arijit Singh. I love to sing Bollywood and Western songs,” said Chelsi.
