Cuttack: A lawyer of Cuttack has accused two police men of stealing drumsticks from a tree in his garden.

The incident might sound trivial to many but the complainant lawyer Basudev Mishra does not think so.

As per the complaint by Mishra, two OAPF personnel reached his house one early morning and employed another man to pluck drumsticks from a tree in front of his house in CDA Sector-7 area of Cuttack.

The lawyer has also claimed that the two cops of misbehaving with him. Mishra said “Two OAPF personnel came on two motorcycles, including one PCR bike, on March 4 morning and started plucking drumsticks from a tree, which was planted by me in front of my house. As I opposed and asked them not to do so, they misbehaved with me” said Mishra.

They plucked around 25 kg of drumsticks and left the place on the two-wheelers, Mishra added.

Some neighbours witness to the incident also justified the claims made by the lawyer. The angry lawyer questioned the security of common people when police have little respect for senior citizens like him (a lawyer).

Mishra has lodged a complaint at Markat Nagar police station. and Cuttack DCP has sought a reply from Markat Nagar police station inspector in-charge.
