Cuttack: Laboratory Technician of the blood bank near cancer ward of SCB Medical College, Kishore Chandra Swain, was caught red-handed by the Vigilance while accepting bribe on Monday.
Swain had allegedly demanded and accepted Rs 5,000 from the complainant to provide two bottles of A+ blood from blood bank for treatment of a patient (a relative of the complainant).
The bribe money has been seized from Swain.
The Vigilance sleuths also conducted simultaneous house searches at Chandini Chowk here and his native place at Govindpur.
A case has been registered and investigation is in progress. Details are awaited.
