Cuttack: Close on the heels of a devastating fire in the City Style Shopping Mall in Badambadi area in the Millennium city on February 4, the Fire Services Department on Thursday registered a case against the owner and manager of the Mall.
Sources said the case was registered by the Badambadi Police following a complaint lodged by the Chief Fire Safety Officer (CFO) Sukant Sethi.
The CFO, in the complaint, has stated that the Mall had no fire safety measures. Besides, the owner had not obtained approval from the Cuttack Development Authority (CDA) for construction of the Mall.
Informing the media, Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh said on the basis of the complaint, police would investigate into the incident and take appropriate action.
