Cuttack-Style Dahibara In Mumbai On Sunday

There is an adage, ‘Food is not rational. Food is culture, craving and identity’. Odisha’s rich culture too is reflected in its food, which is simple and devoid of frills and fuss. It’s delicate and light in oil and spices yet full of flavour. And what better way to celebrate Utkal Diwas than a sumptuous spread of delicacies from the land of Lord Jagannath.
The aroma wafting through the air mixed with Odia pride can now be felt here in Mumbai with Pallav Odia Foundation readying the platter with authentic and luscious culinary delights from the eastern state alongside its catering partner, Puurn Bhoj on April 7 at Shanti Garden, near Palava City in Nilje Gaon.
“We are bringing authentic Cuttack style Dahibara Aloodum along with other Odia street food delicacies such as Bara Ghugni, Bara Aloodum, Pakudi and Gup Chup, the Odia style Pani Puri,” said Puurn Bhoj owner, Akanksha Jodhani Garabadu who wishes to bring Odisha to the thousands of Odias living in Mumbai. “Running a food business here, people often tell us how much they miss the typical Odia street food. We understand it because we too miss it a lot,” added Akanksha.
Along with the event, there is a free health camp being organised on the same day with Reliance Hospital, AIMS Hospital, RR Hospital and other reputed health organisations taking part in it.
