Bhubaneswar: Cuttack were crowned champions in the 62nd Senior Men’s Inter-District Football Championship and received the Sahani Cup 2023.
Having won the first leg of the final 2-1 against Kandhamal, Cuttack managed a 1-1 stalemate in second leg to triumph 3-2 on aggregate at the Kalinga Stadium here today.
Kandhamal drew first blood on Thursday with 40th-minute strike to bring the team on level terms. But Cuttack restored parity on the day and regained their overall lead with a goal in stoppage time.
