Cuttack: For the first time, the Millennium city of Cuttack will host the Big Bout Indian Boxing League scheduled to begin at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium from December 2.
A team of senior officials of the Boxing Federation of India who visited the stadium yesterday expressed satisfaction over its infrastructure. Apart from Cuttack, the event will be simultaneously held in New Delhi and Ludhiana in Punjab.
While the League matches will conclude on December 21, the matches to be played in Cuttack will continue till December 8.
Six franchisee-based teams will participate in the League to be organised by two companies—ProSportify and SportzLive. The event will be telecast live on Star Sports 1 and Star Sports 1 HD.
Olympic medalists and world champions such as Mary Kom, Sonia Lather, Amit Panghal and Manoj Kumar will participate in the event.
