Balasore: A total of 28 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Balasore on Tuesday, taking the district’s affected tally to 440.
Of the 28 positive cases, 15 have been detected in home quarantine, nine cases from quarantine centres, while four are local cases.
According to a tweet by the district administration, six are Maharashtra returnees, four each with travel history to Tamil Nadu and Telangana, three are Karnataka returnees, and one each from Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and New Delhi. Two among those infected are service providers at SUM hospital and two are cancer patients, who visited Cuttack’s Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer.
Contact tracing is on, the post added.
At present, Balasore district has 111 active coronavirus cases with 327 patients having recovered from the infection.
