Cuttack: Warder of Choudwar jail has tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, jail superintendent Subhakanta Mishra informed.
The warder and three others were on duty at Cancer hospital in Cuttack as a convict was being treated there. The swab tests of other staff and inmates will soon be conducted.
“The warder & 3 others were on duty at Cuttack Cancer hospital where a prisoner was under treatment. I have written to district admin to conduct swab test of jail & barrack staff,” Mishra said.
Notably, a high-level team led by Cuttack District Sessions Judge Rajkumar Sahu on Sunday visited Choudwar Circle Jail to review COVID-19 guidelines on the premises.
They had also provided masks and hand sanitiser to the inmates.
