Cuttack: Patients with kidney ailments are at much higher risk if infected by COVID-19. So to address the issue, Cuttack’s SCB Medical College and Hospital has decided to provide dialysis facilities in its special corona isolation ward.
Following this, three special engineers from Kolkata arrived in Cuttack on Tuesday and started machine installation work.
According to sources, three RO plant machines will be installed and at least 30 patients will receive dialysis treatment every week.
Since acute kidney problems are a risk factor for COVID-19 patients, the nephrologists, as well as intensivists, are facing immense daily challenges while providing care to those patients.
With the rise in COVID-19 infection in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, it has been decided by the Nephrology Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital last week to provide dialysis facilities to the patients in isolation ward.
