CWC summons hotelier over minor domestic help’s death in fire mishap

Bhubaneswar: The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) here on Wednesday issued notice to Pal Heights hotel’s owner Satpal Singh asking him to depose before it on Thursday in connection with the death of 12-year-old Khusi Das, the domestic help who along with four others succumbed in a fire mishap at his residence earlier this month.
However, Singh has sought time till Tuesday for appearance, reports said.
On August 3, a fire broke out at Singh’s residence at Budheswari Colony here claiming lives of five persons. Khusi, who was working as domestic help, had died of asphyxiation, the postmortem report revealed.
