Cyber Crooks Loot Rs 5.27 Lakh From Odisha Businessman’s Bank Account

Angul: A businessman based in Odisha’s Angul lost Rs 5.27 lakh from his bank account in an alleged online fraud.

The matter came to light after the businessman, Chandika Prasad Nanda, lodged a complaint with cyber police.

According to sources, the victim first spotted Rs 50,000 being debited from his account on Wednesday and minutes later, there were multiple transactions during which the remaining amount was siphoned off.

According to the FIR, Nanda did not share his mobile number or OTPs in any form with anyone. He mentioned in the complaint about getting calls from banks and private financing companies for loans.

Angul Cyber police have started a probe and tracking the victim’s cellphone data to spot any suspected conversation or message(s).
