Cyber Fraud: Man Arrested For Duping People In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police on Tuesday arrested a person on charges of online fraud.
He was identified as Rasmiranjan Pani, a resident of Balasore district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted raid on Bargarh area and nabbed the accused.
A laptop, three mobile phones and an ATM card were seized from his possession.
Police had earlier received complaints from 11 persons, alleging that the accused had cheated them out of Rs 3.5 lakh.
According to police sources, Pani used to swindle money from people by opening fake Facebook accounts in the name of Gateway Foundation. He used to take money from their bank accounts by promising them to provide dresses at low prices through online shopping.
