Cyclist dies in road accident in Cuttack

Cuttack: A man died after being hit by a car at Jemadeipur under Tigiria police limits in Cuttack district on Thursday evening.
The deceased was identified as Laxmidhar Nayak.
Locals blocked NH-65 demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. The accident was so severe that the man died on the spot after falling off his bicycle, they said.
“It seems the car rammed into the bicycle after the driver lost control over the vehicle either due to over speeding or brake failure. Efforts are on to nab the driver, who fled the spot immediately after the accident,” a police officer said.
