Kalahandi: A cyclist died after being hit by a motorcycle at Narla in Sambalpur district on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Lokanath Nayak.
The accident occurred due to recklessness of the motorcyclist as he was over speeding. However, he fled the spot with his two-wheeler, police said.
Following the mishap, an angry mob gathered at the accident spot and blocked the Bhawanipatna-Madanpur road demanding adequate compensation to the family of the deceased and action against the biker. Police intervened and brought the situation under control.
