Bhubaneswar: Most parts of coastal Odisha witnessed heavy to very heavy rainfall on Wednesday under the influence of Cyclone Amphan, which is now heading towards the east-south-east of Paradip after passing off the Gopalpur coast.
According to a morning weather bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the rainfall received till 5.30 am on Wednesday was highest in Paradip at 214.1 mm followed by Puri (89.2), Baripada (76.2), Chandbali (70.6), Balasore (58.5), Bhubaneswar (50.8), Cuttack (25) and Chhatrapur (20).
Meanwhile, IMD has issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warning at one or two places in Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Bhadrak and heavy rainfall at one or two in Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Cuttack, Puri and Jajpur districts on Wednesday.
It has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Balasore and Mayurbhanj and heavy rainfall at one or two places in Jajpur, Bhadrak and Keonjhar districts on Thursday.
