Bhubaneswar: As cyclone Arnab is set to hit the Andhra Pradesh coast on October 28, the Odisha government on Monday deputed senior IAS officer Madhusudan Das to Nuapada district to oversee relief and restoration operations.
According to an order issued by the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), Das has been assigned the responsibility with immediate effect. He is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the General Administration and Public Grievance Department.
As per the order, the officer will assist, supervise, monitor and coordinate relief and restoration activities in the district. He will work in close coordination with the Nuapada district administration to ensure the timely and effective implementation of relief measures.
The officer has been directed to proceed to Nuapada immediately and ensure compliance with the order. His deployment is temporary and will remain in force until further orders.
Officials said the move is part of the state government’s preparedness and administrative coordination efforts in anticipation of the potential impact of the cyclonic storm.
