Bhubaneswar: The Ranji Trophy match between Odisha and Services at the KIIT Stadium here is set to be severely hampered by impending Cyclone Arnab and its effects on the state.
Ahead of its expected landfall between Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Yanam in Puducherry before Wednesday noon, it started raining in different states a day before.
The Odisha capital city saw cloudy weather and light to moderate but persistent rain, which ruled out any play on the second day.
With rain and thunderstorms predicted through Wednesday and Thursday, chances of any action on the remaining two days of the Elite Group C clash are bleak.
Odisha were bowled out for 194 and in reply, Services were 13 for no loss at stumps on Day 1.
In the event of Days 3 and 4 being abandoned too, the hosts could benefit by earning their first point of the 2026-27 campaign. Odisha lost their first two matches by big margins against Gujarat and Kerala.
