Bhubaneswar: In view of the impending Cyclone ‘Dana’, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has announced that all monuments and museums under its supervision in Odisha will remain closed.
The Superintending Archaeologist of Puri Circle, in an order on Tuesday, directed the authorities of all monuments and museums to remain closed on October 24 and 25 to avoid any untoward incident.
In its latest bulletin, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the depression in east-central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression and lay about 690 km off Paradip coast in Odisha.
It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm by October 23. Thereafter, it is very likely to move northwestwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in northwest Bay of Bengal by the morning of October 24 and cross north Odisha and West Bengal coasts between Puri and Sagar Island during night of October 24 to October 25 morning.
