Paralakhemundi: The Gajapati district administration has also braced up and started taking all the measures to prevent loss of life and property during Cyclone Gulab.
Gajapati Collector Lingaraj Panda has cancelled the leave of all government employees and officers for two days on September 25 and 26 and asked them to stay in their respective headquarters.
The collector has also asked them not to leave their headquarters without prior permission.
The deep depression is located about 470 km east-southeast of Gopalpur and 540 km east-northeast of Kalingapatnam. It is likely to intensify into a cyclone in the next 12 hrs and make landfall near Kalingapatnam tomorrow evening, stated the IMD.
With the cyclonic storm approaching Odisha Coast the Collector and SP visited the low lying areas of Paralakhemundi Municipality and took stock of the preparedness.
They also visited the district police control room. The control room numbers will be released today, said the Collector.
The Koraput district administration too has cancelled the leaves of all the government staff.
