Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has opened a disaster management cell for management of the situation during and after Cyclone Michaung.
In view of early forecast of the forecasts by different meteorological agencies and having the experiences of earlier management of disasters, the ECoR has planned early restoration of train traffic and railway track, if affected by the cyclone, according to a press release on Sunday.
Round-the-clock Disaster Management Cell has been opened at ECoR headquarters in Bhubaneswar and divisional headquarters at Visakhapatnam, Khurda Road and Sambalpur.
General Manager of ECoR Manoj Sharma has advised the officials to remain alert and carry out continuous monitoring of vulnerable locations and early mobilisation of resources for quick restoration of track, signalling system and OHE installations.
The helpline numbers in Bhubaneswar are 0674 – 2301525, 2301626, 2303060. The helpline numbers at Visakhapatnam, Khurda Road and Sambalpur will be activated from Monday.
Meanwhile, the ECoR has canceled some more trains in view the cyclone. Those trains are as following:

02. 17481 Bilaspur-Tirupati Express from Bilaspur on 05.12.2023.
03. 17480 Tirupati-Puri Express from Tirupati on 04.12.2023.
04. 17479 Puri – Tirupati Express from Puri on 06.12.2023.
05. 12509 Bengaluru-Guwahati Express from Bengaluru on 6th & 7th December, 2023.
06. 18190 Ernakulam-Tata Express from Ernakulam on 06.12.2023.
