Bhubaneswar: With Cyclone Nivar likely to make landfall in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday midnight, the Office of Special Relief Commissioner has asked the Odisha collectors to remain alert to meet any eventuality.
In its mid-day bulletin, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Department had said that the cyclonic storm over southwest Bay of Bengal had intensified into a severe cyclonic and cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram as a very severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 120-130 kmph gusting to 145 kmph, on November 25 midnight or early hours of November 26.
