Bhubaneswar: Residents of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack woke up to heavy rainfall and gusty winds on Sunday morning, though the intensity of rain later subsided.
The Met Department here said that the twin cities will receive intense spells of rain accompanied by gusty winds packing speeds of 30-40 kmph on Sunday due to Cyclone Jawad, which has now weakened into a ‘deep depression’.
The Met Department here issued an Orange warning for the twin cities. Heavy rainfall (7-11 cm) is likely at a few places of the twin cities.
The weather office advised residents to brace for water-logging, reduced visibility and uprooting of trees.
