Bhubaneswar: In view of the impending cyclone Yaas, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to postpone the vaccination drive scheduled for Wednesday to Saturday.
“The vaccination drive tomorrow 26th May is herby rescheduled to 29th May in all the centres under BMC area due to Cyclone Yaas. Citizens who have booked their appointment for 26th May can take the vaccination on 29th May with the same appointment slip,” the BMC tweeted.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) P K Mohapatra had earlier asked collectors of Puri, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Angul and Sundargarh to temporarily suspend COVID-19 testing, vaccination and door-to-door survey in areas likely to be affected by the cyclonic storm.
These activities will, however, remain suspended in Balasore, Bhadrak and Mayurbhanj districts, which are likely to be severely hit by Yaas, till May 27.
The collectors of Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and Keonjhar will decide on the suspension of these activities in areas to be affected by the cyclone, the official notification added.
