Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic storm Yaas over east-central Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards with a speed of about 12 kmph during past 6 hours and lay centred over east central Bay of Bengal about 710 km north-northwest of Port Blair, 450 km south-southeast of Paradip (Odisha), 550 km south-southeast of Balasore (Odisha) and 540 km south-southeast of Digha (West Bengal).
It is very likely to move north-northwestwards, intensify further into a Severe Cyclonic Storm during next 12 hours and into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm during subsequent 12 hours.
It would continue to move north-northwestwards, intensify further and reach Northwest Bay of Bengal near north Odisha and West Bengal coasts by May 26 early morning.
The system is very likely to cross North Odisha-West Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar islands around Balasore during noon of May 26 as a very severe cyclonic storm.

Under its impact Orange Warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri and Khurda till 8.30 hours of May 26.
Yellow warning of heavy rainfall has also been issued for the districts of Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Ganjam till 8.30 hours of May 26.
For May 26 to May 27 morning, Red Warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall and extremely heavy rainfall in isolated places has been issued for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal.
Similarly, Yellow Warning of heavy rainfall has been predicted for Angul, Deogarh, Khurda, Puri and Sundargarh districts.
