Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday cancelled leave and holidays of employees till May 31 to facilitate the management of human resources, materials and logistics in areas likely to be affected by ‘very severe’ cyclonic storm Yaas.
This cyclonic storm, which is expected to cross West Bengal and north Odisha around the evening of May 26, is likely to severely affect the coastal as well as the adjoining districts, the official notification said.
“To expedite pre-cyclonic arrangements and ensure post-cyclonic rescue/relief operations in the vulnerable districts and to facilitate unaffected districts and state-level offices to provide human resource, material and logistics support to the affected, it is imperative that all the state government offices and officials remain in a state of readiness,” it said
The government has directed all officials to remain in their respective headquarters. “Government employees on leave are required to join duty,” it added.
