Bhubaneswar: With the early sign of Cyclone Yaas moving towards the Odisha coast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued yellow warning (moderate thunderstorm and rain) for 20 districts including Cuttack and Bhubaneswar cities.
According to a release by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, there will be light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and light to moderate rain in some parts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Bargarh, Rayagada, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar city), Cuttack ( including Cuttack city) and Jajpur between7.30 pm and 10.30 pm.
As there may be minor damage to loose and unsecured structures, minor damage to banana trees and some damage to standing crops, people are advised to keep a watch on the weather for worsening conditions and move to safer places accordingly.
