Bhubaneswar: With Yaas over the east-central Bay of Bengal all set to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha in the next 12 hours.
The IMD, in a mid-day bulletin on Monday, issued red, orange and yellow warning for the following districts.
May 24
(Yellow warning)
Isolated heavy rainfall in Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and Puri.
May 25
(Orange warning)
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Puri and Khurda.
(Yellow warning)
Isolated heavy rainfall in Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal and Ganjam.
May 26
(Red warning)
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with isolated extremely heavy rainfall in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal
(Yellow warning)
Heavy rainfall at isolated places in Angul, Deogarh, Khurda, Puri and Sundargarh.
