Balasore: A 20-year-old youth was critically injured after a big tree fell on him in Balasore town in the early hours of Wednesday amid strong winds as Cyclone Yaas inched towards the Odisha coast.
Sources said that a woman, her two daughters and a 20-year-old son were sleeping in their house at Railway Colony when a gain tree uprooted by the strong wind fell on the asbestos house. While the mother and two daughters had a narrow escape, the youth came under a big branch of the tree.
On being informed, the Fire Service personnel rushed to the house and admitted the youth to the district headquarters hospital in a critical condition.
