Cyclonic Circulation Moves Away From Odisha, Heavy Rain May Continue For 2 Days

Bhubaneswar: Odisha may continue to experience heavy rain for two days with the cyclonic circulation having moved over west Jharkhand and neighbourhood, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Thursday.

The system earlier over North Odisha had triggered very heavy rain in the state for two days.

The weather agency has warned of heavy rain (7 to 11cm) at one or two places in Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Balangir till 8.30 am on Friday (August 9).

Bhubaneswar may experience partly cloudy sky with possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorm.

Heavy rain may continue at one or two places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur and Keonjhar during the subsequent 24 hours.

While light to moderate rain is likely at many places in North Odisha and a few places in South Odisha during the next 3 days, heavy rain may resume in Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on August 13.

There is no rain warning thereafter, it added.
