Bhubaneswar: A fresh cyclonic circulation formed over north Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger heavy to very heavy rain in several parts of Odisha, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining south Bangladesh extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height persists.
Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form during the next 24 hours, the weather agency said. Under its influence, many parts of Odisha have been receiving rainfall of varied intensity in the last 24 hours.
Already witnessing a series of wet spells, Odisha is likely to be lashed by heavy to very heavy rain in the next couple of days under the influence of the low-pressure.
The system is also likely to have its impact on east Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and trigger rainfall in several areas of these two states, sources said.
