Cyclonic Circulation To Trigger Heavy Rainfall In Odisha Till June 26: IMD

Bhubaneswar: Most parts of the north and south coastal districts of Odisha received heavy rainfall on Tuesday under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this weather condition will remain unchanged for the next four days.

In a mid-day bulletin, the IMD said a monsoon trough runs from north Punjab to the northeast Bay of Bengal across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. Also, a cyclonic circulation persists over south Bangladesh and adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal with a tilt towards the southwest direction.

Under its influence, there will be heavy rainfall and thunderstorm accompanied by lightning on one or two places across the state and this will continue till June 26.

June 22
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Jajpur.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,  Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.

June 23
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sundargarh and Deogarh.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh,  Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Khurda.

June 24
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Angul and  Deogarh.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul,  Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

June 25
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of  Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal and Jajpur.

June 26
Heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
