Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is likely to lash several districts of Odisha till October 6 under the influence of a cyclonic circulation that lies over Northeast Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Sunday.
According to the midday bulletin, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Khurda and Puri are likely to experience heavy rainfall till Monday morning (October 3) and Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal in the next 24 hours.
A yellow warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been sounded for some places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri and Khurda and heavy rainfall in Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh during the same duration on October 4.
Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput Rayagada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati the following day. The MeT office has issued yellow warning for heavy rainfall at one or two places in Nuapada, Bargarh, Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh on October 6.
There will be a decrease in the intensity of rainfall thereafter, it added.
