Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities experienced rain and foggy weather on Tuesday morning.
Apart from state capital Bhubaneswar and millennium city of Cuttack, several areas in Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Dhenkanal, Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur encountered foggy weather in the morning, while the sky remained overcast.
As per the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, light to moderate rain is likely to take place in eleven districts during the day, primarily due to western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation over the Indian Ocean adjoining the Bay of Bengal.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for districts like Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sundargarh, Deogarh, and Sambalpur.
Light to moderate rain may occur in several places in the state because of the movement of the western disturbance cloud mass along the Odisha coast.
While foggy conditions usually prevail in the early morning and late evenings in winter, the current cloud movement over low heights is causing drizzle and dense fog.
The weather agency said that the low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Indian Ocean is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards thereafter and reach over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri-Lanka- Tamil Nadu coasts around December 11, bringing overcast skies and foggy weather to coastal Odisha.
