Bhadrak: Thirty two inmates at the Bhagibindha quarantine centre of Jalamandua panchayat under Bhandaripokhari block in Bhadrak district escaped unhurt when a gas cylinder exploded on Tuesday night. However, the cook suffered serious burn injuries.
Dinner was being cooked for the inmates in the kitchen when the accident occurred. Sources said, there was a leakage in the cylinder, which caught fire leading to the explosion.
The cook sustained injuries all over his body and many commodities got gutted. Fire Brigade personnel from Bhandaripokhari reached the spot and doused the fire.
