Bhubaneswar: Retired IFS officer and member of Central Zoo Authority (CZA) Dr U. Prakasham arrived here on Monday for inspection of Nandankanan Zoological Park.

Talking to Odisha Bytes, ACF (Visitor Management) Amulya Kumar Parida informed that during his three-day visit, the CZA member will take stock of various parameters pertaining to management of the zoo.

“The CZA member will review the status of existing infrastructure like construction and maintenance of enclosures, maintenance of vehicles and anti-pollution measures, management of hospital and healthcare facilities for visitors and infrastructure facilities in the veterinary hospital,” Parida said.

Dr Prakasham will also review solid waste management, feeding of animals, facilities for visitors, water sources and awareness drive by the zoo authorities to educate visitors on wildlife and nature, Parida added.
