Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday arrested a lady Odisha Finance Service (OFS) officer for allegedly amassing properties disproportionate to her known sources of income.
The accused has been identified as Nalini Kumari Prusty. She was working as financial adviser-cum-chief accounts officer at Odisha Primary Education Programme Authority (OPEPA).
Properties, both movable and immovable, worth Rs 6.87 crore were unearthed by the anti-corruption agency officials during simultaneous raids on her houses.
These include two flats in Bhubaneswar worth Rs 1.8 crore, furniture and interior articles amounting to Rs 1.34 crore, a triple-storey building in Bhubaneswar valued at Rs 49.6 lakh, property at Grand Asiana in Puri town estimated at Rs 21.4 lakh, six plots in Bhubaneswar and Jatni worth around Rs 58 lakh, Rs 1.24 lakh crore fixed deposits in four banks, deposits worth Rs 22 lakh in saving bank accounts, household items worth Rs 46 lakh, gold and diamond jewellery valued at Rs 40 lakh.
