Bhubaneswar: The Special Vigilance Court on Wednesday permitted the Vigilance SIT to take the suspended IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak and his son Akash on a three-day remand for interrogation in the disproportionate assets case.
The SIT on Tuesday had prayed the court to take Pathak on remand. The suspended IFS officer and his son Akash are now lodged in Jharpada Jail after they were arrested on November 27.
The Vigilance sleuths, who had raided the official residence of Pathak in Bhubaneswar for the second time on Tuesday, seized the CCTV to identify the visitors to his house.
Meanwhile, another team of SIT has started verification of the bank accounts of Pathak in Berhampur. Sources said the team is examining his account in the ICICI Bank, Dena Bank, Axis Bank and SBI branch at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital and the Prudential Financial Inc.
Pathak was posted as the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Berhampur from June 28, 2004, to June 21, 2006.
