Sambalpur: The Vigilance sleuths began simultaneous raids on the houses of Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd (OCCL) Manager Ranjan Kumar Dang in Sambalpur on Monday, following allegations of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
According to sources, three teams comprising two DSPs, three inspectors and other staff are conducting searches at three places in Sambalpur.
So far, Rs 1. 45 lakh in cash and a three-storey building have been unearthed.
Bang, however, had denied the allegation levelled against him. “I had taken a bank loan to build the house. I earn 82,000 a month and my wife gets around Rs 60,000- Rs 70,000 from her part-time job. I have not done anything wrong. Some unknown persons might have lodged a complaint against me to tarnish my image,” he said.
