Berhampur: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday raided houses and offices of Junior Engineer of Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) Gagan Bihari Pati on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Acting on a search warrant issued by a Court following complaints against the engineer regarding illegal amassment of assets and properties, the officials of the anti-corruption department carried simultaneous raids at three places in Berhampur, including Pati’s three-storey building at Siddharth Nagar, his parental house at Co-operative Colony and in-laws’ residence at Routkala Sahi.
“During theraids, gold ornaments and cash worth around Rs 30 lakh were recovered from Pati’s Siddharth Nagar house. Several official documents were also verified and seized from the spot,” an official of the Vigilance department informed.
Raids are also being conducted on his office in Gunupur in Ganjam district and official residence at Muniguda of Rayagada district.
