Bhubaneswar: Vigilance sleuths, on Thursday, raided the houses and office of OAS officer Asutosh Samal on charges of amassing properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Samal’s residential government quarter, his 3-BHK flat at Green High Apartments located at Kharvel Nagar in Bhubaneswar and his house at native village Sasan Purusottampur in Jajpur were raided.
Apart from those, raids were also conducted at his relatives’ house at Nabarangpur village in Bhadrak district and office in Bhubaneswar on the basis of search warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
Assets worth Rs.1, 22, 39,677 have been calculated so far. The searches are still continuing, vigilance sources said.
In his reaction following the raids, Samal, who is currently posted at Revenue and Disaster Management department, said that “I have fully cooperated the raiding team during search. I will be punished, if found guilty.”
